Essex Crossing

Essex Crossing

After decades of waiting, construction is in progress.

Construction has commenced on the Essex Crossing site situated within the Lower East Side of Manhattan. As a part of the Seward Park Extension Urban Renewal Area, it sits on 6 acres of land and is comprised of nine separate sites. Commercial, residential, and community space will fill the 1.9 million square foot area. This has been a long time coming since the space was demolished back in 1967 after much community outcry.

GeoDesign, Inc. was selected to work on active Sites 2, 5, and 6 where we are providing geotechnical engineering services, support of excavation design, construction support, and inspection services.
